Transport in Valencia

4th July 2017 /Posted byUrban Youth Hostel / 4308

If you need to figure out the best way to travel around, there’s plenty of transport in Valencia, and cheap ways to get around the city using the bus or metro as well.

BUS: if you choose to take a bus, you get the opportunity to sightsee while you make way to your destination. On the other hand, it may not be as easy when it comes to knowing what stop to get off at. For a single journey, it costs €1.50. Here is the link to the bus routes: http://www.emtvalencia.es/ciudadano/index.php

METRO/SUBWAY: This form of transportation in Valencia is one of the quickest ways to travel through the city; It’s also very affordable and there’s air conditioning! The metro runs very frequently and goes until around 11:00pm. It is also very easy to navigate and understand. Here is a link to a metro guide in Valencia: https://www.valencia-tourist-guide.com/en/transport/valencia-metro.html

TAXIS: This is more expensive than the other forms of transportation, however it is a very convenient way to get around a city that you’re not so familiar with. You can easily wave a taxi down as long as it says “libre” in green in the front, or you can call a taxi company in advance! Here is a link to a taxi contact page: http://www.visitvalencia.com/es/ComoMoverse.aspx?medio=taxi&elemento=Ven0403

CAR RENTAL: If you plan on traveling outside of Valencia to surrounding areas, it may be a good idea to rent a car. However, if you plan on staying in the city, a car is not necessary. You can rent a car from the airport or the main train station, Estacio Nord. Here is a link to different car rental companies in Valencia: https://www.valencia-tourist-guide.com/en/transport/car-hire-valencia-airport.html

TRAMS: Some places in Valencia, you will not be able to reach by metro. In these situations, you can take a tram. It’s €1.50 for a single journey. You also have the option of buying a combined ticket where you can obtain access to busses, metros, and trams!

WALKING: If you have time, walk! It is the cheapest and healthiest option. This allows you to learn your surroundings, get a better feel for the city, and get a workout in. It can also be relaxing to get some fresh air and some sunlight!
